Boiler servicing questions
How often should a boiler be serviced?
Once a year. Most manufacturers make an annual service a condition of the warranty, and it's the single cheapest way to avoid a mid-winter breakdown.
How long does a boiler service take?
Usually 45–60 minutes for a standard domestic combi, longer if the boiler hasn't been serviced for several years or needs cleaning.
Is a boiler service the same as a Gas Safety Certificate (CP12)?
No. A CP12 is a landlord safety check on all gas appliances; a service is a deeper clean and performance check of the boiler itself. Landlords often book both together and we discount the combined visit.
Will servicing my boiler cut my energy bills?
Often, yes. A boiler running with a dirty heat exchanger or badly set gas rate burns more fuel for the same heat. Correcting it usually pays back part of the service cost over a winter.
What happens if you find a fault?
We tell you what it is, what it means for safety, and what the repair costs — before doing anything. If an appliance is genuinely unsafe we'll explain your options clearly.
Do you service boilers you didn't install?
Yes. We service all major brands including Worcester Bosch, Vaillant, Ideal, Baxi, Glow-worm and Viessmann, whoever installed them.
